Political Party In India Launching Line of Cow Urine Soft Drinks

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Nothing says refreshing like an ice cold soda. I don’t think urine would have the same effect, but India apparently never got the memo. The Cow Protection Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is working on a soft drink made out of cow urine.

Known in Sanskrit as “gau jal,” which means “cow water,” the soft drink should be available for human consumption by the end of the year. According to Om Prakash, the head of the department in charge of this beverage monstrosity, the drink will actually be “tasty.”

Why make a soft drink out of urine? Well, apparently the RSS is seeking to rid India of all foreign influence and promote “Hindu-ness.”

According to the RSS, cow urine can be used to treat a variety of ailments, such as liver disease and cancer. In fact, Prakash feels that despite the enormous advertising budgets of popular soft drinks Coca-Cola and Pepsi, his cow urine concoction will be able to hold its own due to being “good for mankind.”

Prakesh also says that the drink will be cheap for consumers, though no price has been set.

The RSS, along with its many offshoots, has been accused of atrocities in the past, such as the killing of 67 Christians in Orissa last year, as well as the assaulting of numerous women in a pub in Mangalore.

Now they’re serving us pee.

Meet Gold-Obsessed Indian Pimpri Man Who Wears Shirt Made Of Gold

Friday, January 4, 2013

Datta Phuge, a chit fund businessman from Pimpri, India, refers to himself as “The Gold Man of Pimpri” and in order to live up to this image, he has recently commissioned a 22-karat gold shirt weighing 3.2 kilograms that’s bound to make some Western rappers green with envy.

According to India Today, gold-obsessed businessmen and politicians are nothing new in India. Not long ago, a man by the name of Ramesh Wanjale was spotted wearing 2 kilos of gold, then NCP functionary Samrat Moze wore 8.5 kilograms of gold in the form of jewelry and ornaments, but chit fund Datta Phuge found a way to one-up them both. He had a team of 15 goldsmiths working 18 hours a day for over 15 days in order to finish a 3.5 kg woven gold shirt.

”The gold shirt has been one of my dreams,” Mr Phuge told Indian newspaper the Pune Mirror. “It will be an embellishment to my reputation as the ‘Gold man of Pimpri’”, Phuge said. His extravagant garment consists of 14,000 gold flowerrings, interwoven with one lakh spangles. It was assembled on a fabric base of imported white velvet, and comes with six Swarovski crystal buttons and an intricate belt, also made of gold.

Drunken Elephants Roaming In Search Of More Alcohol

Thursday, November 8, 2012

A pack of boozing elephants turned a small Indian village upside down Sunday as they trampled crops and homes in search of a strong local alcoholic beverage called Mahua.

About 50 elephants had been drawn out of the jungle by the smell of the drink, according to the Times of India, and their first stop was a shop that sold the beverage. The elephants made quick work of the shop's supply --18 containers of the drink, made from the nectar-rich flowers of the mahua tree.

Unwilling to let the party end there, the elephants began an aggressive search for more alcohol, raiding three houses near the shop before villagers were able to push them back into the jungle. Forestry officials then tried to get the elephants to cross a nearby river, the Daily Mail notes.

There have been several reported incidents of drunken elephants wreaking havoc in villages throughout the years.

In 2007, six wild elephants had to be electrocuted after they went crazy following a rice beer binge, according to the Associated Press. And in 2010, a herd of 70 inebriated elephants went on a rampage that destroyed villages and left three people dead, Time magazine reports.

While elephants are the largest land animal, the Asian elephant is slightly smaller than its African cousin, according to National Geographic. Asian elephants can be identified by their ears, which are smaller and rounded, while African elephants have years that resemble their namesake's continent.

The mammals, which can live to 60 years of age, are also highly endangered, appearing on the ICN Red List. Between 26,000 and 31,000 elephants live in India today, and their population is decreasing. The biggest threats to the animals are habitat loss, degradation and fragmentation.

The rapidly expanding human population has led to an increase in conflict between villagers and elephants, when elephants eat or trample crops, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people and elephants.

Man Slices Tongue To Win Back Wife He Verbally Abused

Bunty Verma used to have a sharp tongue. The 32-year-old TV repairman from Sendhwa, India reportedly insulted his wife, Hema, so frequently and severely that she recently left him, taking their daughter with her.

The man was so distraught that he tried to lick his abusive habit by cutting off the source: his tongue, according to the Hindustan Times.

Verma tried to reach out to his estranged wife with a note explaining that since it was his tongue that was responsible for his cruel words, he sliced it off, Geobeats reported.

No word on whether his wife believed the reconciliation attempt was anything more than lip service, but Verma was admitted to a government hospital for treatment, and the medical officer informed local police officials about his personal dismemberment.

Verma's isn't the only tongue under attack recently.

A Jack Russell terrier named Ollie in England faces being put down after his tongue was ripped out by a hawk that was being trained.

The bird of prey sank its talons into the dog before ripping off his tongue -- leaving the pooch "screaming and covered in blood," HuffPost UK reported.

Back in September, Jayla Small, an 8-year-old in Atlanta, suffered eight hours in pain when a metal water bottle got stuck to her tongue.

World's Oldest Dad Does At 96: Having Sex Three Times A Night

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

He should be called a Superman or at least Tarzan this Indian man has become the world’s oldest father for the second time at the age of 96. Ramjit Raghav was awarded the title two years ago when he had his first born son Karamjit aged 94.

Although he swore one was enough, the pensioner and his wife Shakuntala, 54, welcomed another son Ranjit, last month.

Speaking at his home in the state of Haryana, 31 miles from Delhi, Ramjit said: ‘What can I do? This is all God's wish. He wanted me to have another son.’

When Shakuntala gave birth to the healthy boy earlier this month at the Government hospital in Haryana, the doctors laughed when Ramjit said he was the father.
He said: ‘They just laughed but they were very surprised.’
Ramjit, who lives with his family in a studio apartment, has high hopes for his sons.

He said: ‘I have been a farmer all my life. But I want them to become high ranking government workers.
‘It's good that I have another son now. Even if one of them dies, God forbid, I will have someone to carry on my family name."

Ramjit admits that as proud as he is of having two healthy sons at his age, his neighbours are more jealous of his sex drive.

Mars-hatma Gandhi: Face of Mahatma Gandhi Appears on Mars

Monday, October 15, 2012

Our Indian friends should not feel low that only Osama bin Laden is appearing on funny things like TOASTS.

This time its their guy, when surveying the amazing pictures sent from Europe's Mars Orbiter back to Earth you would expect to enjoy images of mist-capped volcanoes and deep craters.

What you couldn't predict is seeing Mohandas 'Mahatma' Gandhi's profile etched into the rock.

But an Italian space enthusiast called Matteo Lanneo has found exactly that.

He was scanning through the latest images sent by Europe's Mars Express probe when he came across this uncanny resemblance to the father of the Indian nation.

The head appears to have a moustache and shaven head and prominent eyebrows, just like the political leader.

It's not the first time that a face has been spotted on Mars.

In July 1976, the American Viking 1 Orbiter took a photograph that appeared to show a hill in the shape of a human face on the dusty surface of Mars.

Within days of its discovery in 1976, space enthusiasts were speculating that the structure was man-made and had been built by Martians in the distant past.

However, an image taken with Nasa’s high-definition HiRISE camera in 2010 showed the face was just a large, rocky hill.

Seeing faces on Mars is a case of pareidolia - where a random stimulus is perceived as having significance, be it a symbol seen in a cloud or a face on a piece of toast.

Scientists theorise the phenomenon occurs because humans are hardwired to recognise familiar objects as a survival technique.

ESA’s Mars Express has just celebrated its eighth years in space. The Orbiter takes high-resolution images and maps the minerals on the surface. It also explores the subsurface using radar.

It carried a UK-built lander called Beagle 2 into space, but this was lost during its descent to the planet.

Indian Store Forced to Change Their Name From Hitler To Something Else

Monday, September 17, 2012

The hope of two Indian businessmen’s getting their store famous succeeded … but not exactly the type of fame they’d wished for.

Naming their clothing store “Hitler” and including a swastika in their brand design caused an uproar — not only in India, but in other countries as well.

Their clothing line quickly gained notoriety after the store received criticism and protests from Britain, the U.S., Germany, and Israel. Some Jewish groups even visited the store to express their feelings about the chosen name and imagery.

This political pressure made the two businessmen back down from their ill-thought scheme and to come up with a new store name. At first, they even feigned ignorance of using “Hitler” as their store name, saying that they named it after their “strict uncle,” but the Swastika gave them away, making everyone assume that the use of the name was intentional.

“We received at least 10 phone calls every day from the U.S., the UK, Dubai, Germany and Israel. It was getting very annoying, as many of these people called at odd hours,” Rajesh Shah said.

Indian Man Refuses to Move into $1 Billion Home Due to Superstition

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Giant homes are generally a waste of money and, in some cases, massive eyesores. But in poverty-stricken India, you can’t help but feel a twinge of utter anger at the story of a Mumbai man who built a $1 billion home he doesn’t even live in.

The 27-story building features all the amenities a wealthy person will probably never need: helicopter landing pads, floating gardens, and innumerable parking lots. However, thanks to a bit of superstition, billionaire Mukesh Ambani refuses to move in, rendering everything completely unusable.

Apparently the building lacks the proper feng shui, also known as vastu shastra in India. A lack of eastern-facing windows prevents everything from facing the sunrise, which is considered bad luck.

As a result, the 9th richest man in the world is forced to live in a “modest” 14-story elsewhere in Mumbai. The building of the home, called Antilla (and not Xanadu 2: Electric Boogaloo), has apparently caused cries of outrage due to being what is called an ”ostentatious show of wealth” in poverty-stricken Mumbai.

Solution: Move all the poor into the home and make Ambani pay for it.
