In China: Patients Lie in Coffins to “Die” as Part of Rebirth Treatment

Friday, February 1, 2013

Most people would consider lying in a coffin and having the lid shut over them to be a traumatic experience, a special psychotherapy service in Shenyang, China is using it as therapy to treat psychological problems and heavy stress.

The Shenyang Evening News reports over 1,000 patients have so far been”reborn” by simulating death with the help of psychologists. Tang Yulong, a consultant at this unique psychotherapy clinic in Shenyang, says people who suffer from psychological problems can be helped by simulating death.

People go in a 5-square-meter ”death experience room”, write down their last words, lie down into a coffin in the floor and are covered with a white cloth. To make this “dying” experience even more realistic, the “deceased” can even hear a dirge being played in the room.

After five minutes of “serene time”, the sound of a baby crying breaks the silence, and a consultant opens the coffin with a cheery tune playing in the background. This rebirth apparently helps people get a new outlook on life.

“In the past 35 years, I thought what I pursued were what I needed, such as money and a high position. However, after this special therapy, I find out that what I need is not a house, but a home,” said Huang, a 35-year-old manager, said after going through the unique therapy. He tried to commit suicide four times, in the past, but was stopped by family or colleagues.

Now, after going through this treatment, he has asked for demotion and has become involved with various charities, to help those less fortunate. ”This therapy makes use of suggestion theory in psychology,” consultant Tang said. ”However, it’s only part of the psychotherapy and is not suitable for everyone. We will choose proper ones to receive this death-experience therapy,” he added.

The Real Ghostwriter? Mysterious Emails from Beyond the Grave

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Looks like the dead have left behind Ouija boards and upgraded to e-mail communication. That is, if the story of Jack Froese is to be believed.

The 32-year-old from Dunmore, PA, died last June from a heart arrhythmia. But last November, a couple of people received e-mail messages from him containing personal information that only he could know.

For instance, Tim Hart, his childhood buddy got this message: “Did you hear me? I’m at your house. Clean your f-cking attic!!!” The subject line read, “I’m watching.” Now, according to Tim, only Jack could have sent a message like this, because they had had a conversation about what to do with the attic space shortly before Jack’s death.

Jack’s cousin, Jimmy McGraw, also received a similar e-mail, warning him about an ankle injury that he’d suffered after Jack’s death.

“I knew you were going to break your ankle, tried to warn you, gotta be careful.” Mc Graw believes the message to be a sign that Jack is trying to connect with him, telling him to move along and feel better.

Now, I know they’re saying that the e-mails have information that only Jack could be aware of, but it still sounds highly unbelievable. I mean, anyone could have known about McGraw’s injury, and it’s not so hard to figure out when someone needs to clean up their attic. The e-mailer could be literally anyone, there’s no concrete reason to believe that it’s Jack.

However, Tim Hart says he doesn’t mind what people think, really. “If somebody’s joking around, I don’t care because I take it whatever way I want,” says Hart. Jack’s mother, Patty, isn’t much bothered either. She just thinks it’s nice that people are still talking about him, and that his friends should consider the e-mails as gifts.

Here A Man Who Is Keeping His Dead Son In A Freezer For Six Years

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Xueming  Tian, from Huangling, Chongqing, a town in southern China, did not want to be apart from his son. So he put his son’s corpse in a freezer for six years. He even had generators to keep the freezer running in case of a blackout.

“It makes me feel as if my son has never left me,” Tian said. “When my wife and I want to talk to him, we can just pull up some chairs, lift the lid and chat with him as if he had never been taken from us.”

According to Tian, his clever son had just started college when they found out his son’s incurable leukemia.

“We were devastated. We visited many doctors, but there was nothing else we could do. I just prayed we would not lose him,” Mr. Tian said.

“When he died, I just couldn’t face never seeing my child again, so we decided to put him in a freezer to preserve his body.”

What’s more devastating is that this is not the first time that one of their kids has died. Mr Tian’s daughter also died after collapsing on a hot summer day.

“After the death of my daughter, I gave up my job so that I could spend more time with my wife and son.”

He also said that at first not a lot of people knew about it, and then rumors started to spread.

“Not many people knew at first what we had done as we did not want anyone to find out. We kept it a secret for a long time. But over the years, the news spread.”

When asked if they will bury him eventually, he said, “One day the time will come when his mother and I can no longer look after him and we will then give him a proper burial, but now is not the time.

When the time is right, we will give him the most dignified burial and have a celebration of his life, and invite everyone to pay their respects to him. But later.”
