They are often referred to as man's best friend. And if these hilarious pictures are anything to go by, these dogs certainly make a good fist of dressing like their owners.
Rather than being highly-paid fashion hounds, these portraits are of dogs that Dublin photographer Fran Veale spotted in the street.
It was then a matter of getting the dogs into shirts - and sometimes ties - and getting them to sit still on Fran's dining room table. The 30-year-old said: 'I got the idea after I photographed my own dog Jackie wearing the piano tie as I wanted a funny portrait for over the mantle piece.
'My friend Derek was there to help me in case she tried to jump off the table. 'She had such a serious human like expression on her face that the two of us fell around the place laughing, so much so I could barely take the picture.
'It really captured her personality. It's quite amazing how with just a look, a dog can communicate with its owner.' Mr Veale then started approaching people on the street and asking if he could take pictures of their dogs. His method of persuasion was to show them pictures of his own dog dressed in the shirt and tie.
'Out of about 40 owners I approached, only two declined', he said. 'One said her boyfriend would be really against it and the other was an elderly lady who said she'd have to ask her son, and quite naturally the son didn't want his mother going into a stranger's house she'd just met in the park.
