Some women say they can’t function without heels on. To that, I say, Bollocks! There are some shoes out there that just defy physics, or at the very least, reasonable foot comfort. If I’m going to be wearing six-inch heels, you best believe, I’ll be sitting for most of the day. Walking? Fuggedaboutit.
Now pan to the latest shoe invention: the reverse heel. Yes, the reverse heel.
Another torture device invited by some “genius designer”? The video describes the reverse heel as a way to “explore what lies beyond perfection.” How about what lies beyond back pain, arch ache, and pinched toes? One unhappy blogger.
Huffington Post sure hopes this new kind of beauty aka “scary beautiful” doesn’t catch on, and Buzzfeed feels for the model and her awkward canter. The shoes are designed by Leanie van der Vyver and René van den Berg who want to challenge “current beauty ideals by inflicting an unexpected new beauty standard.”
Would anyone in their right mind wear this? And if so, where would you sport this torture device?
