The All-Terrain Armored Transport looks just right on an Italian Greyhound, who naturally resembles the robotic creature featured in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. An Italian Greyhound might not be as sturdy for ground transport or assault as the AT-AT itself, but it’s super cute, and it’s assured that your dog would be too, should you design and create such a fabulous costume. What better costume than the AT-AT, a highly collectible symbol of Star Wars throughout its thirty-odd years of incredible popularity.
This costume was designed by Katie Mello, an obvious Star-Wars-loving type of lady. Mello works at LAIKA/House, an animation studio in Portland. The costume itself is made of foam and lightweight fabric, making it safe and comfortable for your pet to wear. She designed a mold of his body in order to create each fitting of the costume. Mello documented every step of her process, and even created a Facebook page for Bones, her doggie. This costume, and Mello’s process, could serve as an incredible inspiration for you and your pooch this Halloween and can certainly get your creative juices flowing.
