AN elderly driver made a grave error reversing in a cemetery — going straight over a headstone.
The man, in his 70s, had careered across a grass verge in the blue Vauxhall Corsa before smashing into the stone memorial. He emerged severely shaken.
Funeral mourner Tom Barrett, 24, was at the site in Appleton, Lancs. He said: “The driver had a gaze in his eyes and couldn’t believe what he’d done.”
